About Me

the bridge-61In order to avoid personal awkwardness, I refuse to write this section in third person. Who would I be trying to fool? I am the only guy working on this blog after all.

So – with that caveat out of the way – my name is Whitney, and I am the founder, principal author, and general maintenance man of this blog. Also, I am currently the father to two handsome young boys with wildly different personalities, which keeps things interesting! As a father, my role is one of both trainer and punching back for my young warrior, stair climbing safety net for my very young climber, and general instigator of all things that make mom say “HEY!” To their mother, I am husband. Hopefully, I am a good one of those as I consider it to be my primary responsibility/role/joy/blessing. Without my wife being as awesome as she is I could never be who God is making me into. She is my accountability, comfort, and best friend. You would be lucky to know her. Also, I am a pastor. Currently, I am a pastor of a fledgling church just getting started in the ‘Burbs of Phoenix, Arizona.

All told, I love to read, write, consider, develop, grow, and move – you know, normal humanly things. The most important thing you can know about me is my primary identity: I am a blood-bought, Christ-honoring, Bible-loving, still-sanctifying son of God, adopted by order of His glorious grace.
